Should You Choose HD or a Smaller Video File?
Use the video itself, your screen, storage space, and connection to choose between a clearer file and a smaller download.
The biggest file is not always the best choice. Think about where you will watch the video and what details you need to see.
Choose the clearer file when detail matters
Use the best available quality for tutorials, recipes, screen recordings, lessons, or any clip with small text. A clearer file also looks better on a laptop, tablet, or TV.
This usually takes more storage and mobile data. A long HD video can be much larger than a short phone clip.
Choose the smaller file for speed
A smaller option is useful when storage is low, the connection is slow, or you only need a quick copy on your phone.
For a short casual video, the visual difference may be hard to notice on a small screen. The smaller file can download faster and be easier to share between your own devices.
Why HD may be missing
